FAQs

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the many active compounds present in the cannabis plant. These active compounds are referred to as cannabinoids. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not give you a “high” feeling or inhibit you in any manner.

What is CBD oil?

Extracted from the leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant, it is a natural oil that has many uses.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids account for the majority of cannabis benefits and are the active compounds found in all cannabis plants. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which promotes homeostasis within the body.

Is CBD legal?

Yes, CBD derived from hemp is Federally legal in all 50 states.

What is CBD used for?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently does not allow us to make medical claims regarding the benefits of our products beyond recommending them for general well-being. If you are suffering from a specific disease or illness, or believe you are suffering from a disease or illness, it is best to consult your healthcare provider for advice.

What is the difference between CBD and hemp?

Hemp is a variety of the cannabis plant. CBD is a molecular compound that is found in the plant’s extracts.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Marijuana comes in many varieties, including the classic Cannabis Sativa plant. Hemp, by comparison, is only the cannabis sativa plant and not other varieties.

While they are the same plant, there are genetic differences between marijuana plants that are bred to have very high amounts of THC, whereas hemp is bred to contain larger amounts of CBD and little to no THC. This means that while hemp has many of the same properties as marijuana, it is great for folks seeking cannabis benefits without becoming under the influence of a “high” feeling or experiencing psychoactive effects.

The two plants are separated by the legal definition outlined by the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, which establishes "Industrial Hemp" as a cannabis sativa plant with a THC concentration below 0.3%.

Is your product safe?

All of Violetta’s products are third-party lab tested to ensure the highest quality and transparency. Further, to our knowledge there are no known occurrences of illnesses caused by the consumption of our types of CBD oil products. Having said that, if you are taking (or plan to begin taking) any specific medication in your daily life, or if you have any questions generally, please do consult your doctor about CBD as a responsible best practice.

What does Full Spectrum mean?

Full Spectrum CBD oil retains trace amounts of THC that is present in the hemp plant. The amount of THC legally must always be less than 0.3%. All of our Full Spectrum products meet this definition and the lab test results are published on our website. All of our THC-Free products, on the other hand, have no detected THC in them and their test results are likewise available on our website.
